The Pro Comp Doorslammers are a new, spectacular racing class for cars that are completely free to choose the type of engine and turbocharger. The regulations only require a “Full Bodied Car” with functional doors that can achieve a time of 6:00 seconds or higher on the quartermile.
There is no index in qualifying. Only the best time achieved is used as a benchmark, which may not be undercut by more than 0.2 in the eliminations. This ensures that the race is already run at full speed at this point.
There are heads-up starts in the eliminations (i.e. no time shift). Anyone who breaks his personal index (reference value) is eliminated.
For spectators, this means that they can look forward to exciting racing action with interesting duels between V8 supercharged “Goliaths” and Golf turbo “Davids”.
